“Thanks to my parents, I got in touch with the big world through books, music and visual arts. Thus, at a very young age, I had a desire to explore the world beyond Luxembourg,” Lysiane says. “I also had the idea that I would find the meaning of life if I immersed myself more in the world of art.” She took art courses in Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam.
The Netherlands suited her, but her work and love took her to another city. “After this long ramble, I found a job in Rotterdam in ‘71 that suited me. I also met a young artist who would become the love of my life. In this city, which kept renewing itself, I could finally make the connection between art and real life. That’s how everything started to make sense to me. So in this city, my search ended. I came home to Rotterdam and myself.”
