Accessibility Statement – Faces of Rotterdam

Faces of Rotterdam wants everyone, regardless of background or disability, to be able to experience our stories and portraits. We strive to make our website accessible according to the international WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines.

What we already do:

• Photos have descriptive alt text so screen readers can describe them.
• Use of calming colors and sufficient contrast between text and background.
• Simple, clear navigation and jargon-free text.

What can still be improved:

• Some interactive elements are not yet optimally usable with just the keyboard.

We will be actively working on improving these components as well in 2025.
